Under the Hood
What's Inside the Shaak
Every session runs on genuine wood heat and a few details we refused to compromise on. Here's what you're stepping into.
Kuuma Legacy Wood-Fired Stove
The heart of the sauna. A genuine Kuuma Legacy stove throws steady, honest heat the old-fashioned way — no electric coils, no shortcuts.
Zen Wave Soft Steam
A soft steam system that keeps the air gentle instead of harsh and dry, so the heat feels good for longer, session after session.
Changing Room
A private space to change in and out, built right into the trailer — rain, shine, or lake wind.
Outdoor Shower
Rinse off and cool down right outside the door, then head back in for another round of heat.

A Sauna Built From Scratch, Started By Hand
Sauna Shaak began in Pentwater on the back of a retired racecar trailer, reshaped into a working wood-fired sauna by local craftsmen. What started as a personal build became a small business rooted in Michigan's growing sauna culture.
The mission is simple: make traditional sauna wellness available to the Pentwater community and lakeshore visitors, without the cost or commitment of a permanent facility. Every session reflects that same handcrafted, small-town approach the business was built on.
Why Sauna Shaak
A Different Kind of Heat
Built by Hand, Not Off a Shelf
The trailer started life as an old racecar hauler. The exterior was custom-built by a local shed craftsman, and every inch of the interior was fitted out to actually work as a sauna.
Real Wood Fire, Always
A genuine Kuuma Legacy wood-fired stove does the real work here today — steady, honest heat you can feel instead of relying on an electric plug-in box.
Family-Owned and Personally Run
We're the ones building sessions, tending the fire, and showing up. There's no call center between you and the people running this business.
Still Rare Around Here
Sauna culture is having a real moment, and there's very little local competition offering it this way — a mobile, wood-fired sauna you can book directly.
