Sauna Shaak operates out of Pentwater, Michigan, serving guests throughout Oceana and Mason County with mobile, wood-fired sauna sessions. The business is family-owned, fully insured, and a proud member of the Pentwater Chamber of Commerce.
What began as a personal build on a retired racecar trailer has grown into a small local business rooted in the region's lakeshore community. Every session reflects that hands-on, Michigan-built approach, from the sauna itself to the way each booking is handled.
The Heat Was the Whole Point
We didn't build this because a mobile sauna was a clever business idea. We built it because we wanted the heat, the quiet, and the slow-down that comes with real wood fire — and we figured other people around Pentwater probably wanted that too.
Every session still runs the same way it did on our own property two years ago: honest heat, a place to change, and a cold rinse waiting outside when you're ready for it.
"WE BRING THE HEAT" isn't just the sign out front. It's the whole reason Sauna Shaak exists.
How It's Built
01 The frame
Started life as a racecar trailer — a strong, road-ready base built to actually travel to Oceana and Mason counties, not just sit still.
02 The exterior
Custom-built by a local shed craftsman, giving the Shaak its cabin-like, handmade look inside and out.
03 The interior & fabrication
Built out by Jimmy Ruiter, who turned the shell into a working changing room, steam system, and sauna chamber.
04 The heart
A genuine Kuuma Legacy wood-fired stove, paired with a Zen Wave soft steam system.
